CONTRACT TYPE: Design and Project Management

This colossal industrial unit in Kent benefitted from a brand new installation of energy efficient LED lighting. The work was carried out 12m high off MEWPs (scissor lifts) and was completed within an extremely tight turnaround.

The lighting was switched in rows via sets of contactors and occupancy PIRs.

Fairhills was instrumental in helping the Electrical Contractor bring this home, also getting involved with the end-client, ensuring smooth, steady and safe execution was maintained.

COST COMPARISONS

Approximate running cost metal halide: 400w x 40 = 16,000w / 16kW.

10 hours ‘burn time’ £46.40 per day at 0.29p kWh x 5 days per week x 50 weeks = £11,625.00 PA

Add lamps and labour replacements, approx £350 per annum. Total running cost: £11,975.00

LED equivalent running cost: 125w high-bay x 40 = 5000w / 5KW.
